Rustburg Red Devils Varsity snagged a late lead and defeated Jefferson Forest 7-6 on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Rustburg Red Devils Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Chance Holt singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Rustburg Red Devils Varsity collected nine hits and Jefferson Forest had five.
Rustburg Red Devils Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Rustburg Red Devils Varsity.
In the top of the fourth inning, Jefferson Forest tied things up at four. Jackson Cherry's sac fly scored one run for Jefferson Forest.

Lucas Bosiger took the loss for Jefferson Forest. He allowed four hits and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.
Kyle McGehee started the game for Jefferson Forest. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out three and walking one
Rustburg Red Devils Varsity totaled nine hits. Holt, Coleman Inge, and Nick Rakes all managed multiple hits for Rustburg Red Devils Varsity. Rakes, Inge, and Holt each collected two hits to lead Rustburg Red Devils Varsity.
